Performance and Prevention Program
Most athletes have untapped potential in their ability to perform their sport but are restricted by poor technique, or worse, injury. Recent studies show that in high school athletes, the top reason otherwise healthy students are not participating in their sport is due to strains, sprains, or fractures. The study concludes specific areas of weakness and poor bio-mechanics create these injuries. With these facts in hand, Point Forward has developed a program to address sport performance and injury issues. We have extended our hours, including Saturday mornings, with the intent of accommodating athletes of all ages. As physical therapists are specifically trained in movement, we emphasize the importance of strength and how to use it in good form. In implementing this program, Point Forward physical therapists have had great success improving the athlete’s ability and enhancing performance, all while preventing injury.
