Telehealth Visits

Frequently Asked Questions

-
Why are you staying open?
-
Physical therapists have a very important role to play for so many individuals and the health care system at large. As direct access providers, we are able to be the primary care provider for those with musculoskeletal conditions, which decreases the burden on providers at hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care centers, and physician offices so that they can care for patients with COVID-19 symptoms. In addition, many of the patients we already see would have serious and debilitating decline or longstanding complications if they are unable to have physical therapy at this time. If you are having a musculoskeletal condition such as back pain, knee pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, or neck pain, physical therapy is your best option right now.

-
Can I come to you without a referral from my physician?
-
Yes! As direct access providers, we can provide you with musculoskeletal care for any pain you may be having. Most insurances allow for you to see a physical therapist without a referral. If your insurance plan does require a referral, we can work with you to get a referral sent here from your physician without you needing to go into their office.
-
Does insurance pay for Telehealth?
-
Yes! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Medicare and private insurances are loosening their telehealth restrictions for physical therapy services. Policies vary, and if you are interested in telehealth services, please call our office and we will check your specific insurance company's policy.
-
Shouldn't I just wait until this all blows over to start physical therapy?
-
No! Now, more than ever, it is imperative that you stay as mobile, functional, and healthy as possible. We may not be able to control the future, but we can control how we feel in the future. Let's put any extra free time you might currently have to good use.
